Ahh . . . love is in the air . . . hearts are everywhere and florists are busy as little bees in the springtime. The wonderful Melin has challenged the Cooking With Cricut Design Team to use hearts and flowers in our project this week.
The little paper craft club we've been leading at our daughter's elementary school for 5, 6 & 7 year olds, loved this little "love bug!" This past Friday we taught them how to make a love bug card, a heart wreath and they decorated a valentine's gift bag. I had several of these little bugs left over and decided to feature her in my challenge project this week.
The card measures 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" square. The red base is a Bazzill Basics card stock from my local Michael's.
The white mat is an embossed swiss dot paper that I've had for ever and I don't know who its made by; the patterned mat is from my scrap stash as are all of the other papers.
The conversation hearts are from the Love Struck 2010 cartridge and are cut at approximately 2 1/2" tall.
I backed them in white and used red and an iridescent glitter glue for the lettering on the hearts (top to bottom: LUV U, MY BFF and 4EVR).
The little Love Bug is cut from the Create-A-Critter cartridge at 3 3/4" tall and is decorated with red glitter glue, some pen doodling, and a purple flower with a purple rhinestone flower center.

The inside of the card is stamped and features the Love Bug die cut from CAC cut at 3" wide x 2 1/2" tall. The "with love" stamp is by Rubber Stampede. The "from your" is one of those old school-style stamps where you dial in the letters you want. It is Circa 12 pts. and it is by ProvoCraft.
