I have a birthday this week and I could think of no better way to celebrate than with a week-long celebration with my bloggy buddies! So this week is all about birthday cards! A different card each and every day and a small piece of blog candy, too. And at the end of the week . . . a special gift drawn by random.org from all the party-goers!
The first card is my version of one that was created by Susan at Busy With the Cricky. Susan is one talented lady -- if you haven't checked out her blog, you really should! Susan has provided an awesome video and cut file on her blog for this card. The video gives great instructions on how to make all of the different pieces and layers fit. The tree tops are pop-dotted to give it some dimension. I used a white gel pen and a fine point black pen for detailing.
The only thing I did differently than Susan was to cut an additional set of tree tops in red, with the hole cuts hidden, to go behind the green.
All of the cuts are from Cindy Loo and Plantin SchoolBook. The papers are all from my scrap stash except for the card base which is a Bazzill Basics Brown.

I stamped the inside of the card with a rubber stamp by Hero Arts. This card measures approximately 5 3/4" and fit nicely into a 6" x 6" square envelope.
You can't have a birthday without some presents! So each day this week, Monday through Friday, there will be a little blog candy for you to win. And then at the end of my birthday bash there will be a grand prize winner drawn from all the participants during the week. The comments section for each day will stay open until 10:00 a.m. EST on Monday, June 27th. Winners for each day and the grand prize winner will be announced later that day. To be eligible for the prizes please be a follower of my blog and leave a comment with your e-mail address.
You can increase your chances, of course, by commenting on each day's post. Today's blog candy is two clear stamps by Studio G.
Thanks so much for stopping by and helping me celebrate my birthday!
