Easter Tag

It's Totally Tags 'n ATC Thursdaze at MyPaperCrafting.com!  Every Thursday the Design Team will be exploring different themes, elements, techniques or embellishments in miniature -- tag and ATC sizes only.  There is no restriction on what tools are used to create them -- die cut machines, punches, stamps, etc. The sky is the limit!

This week our challenge theme is a cross in honor of Easter.  Here is what I made:

And here are the details:
  • I used the Sure Cuts A Lot (SCAL) Library for my tag.  It is cut at a whopping 7" tall by 4 1/4" wide -- I will be using it as a card instead of a true tag.  I inked the edges with purple; the paper is from my scrap stash.
  • The beautiful cross is from PaperCraftingWorld.com -- Cross V13 Cutting File.
  • All of the papers are from my scrap stash.
  • The cross was embossed using the "Musical Flourish" Cuttlebug folder.  I inked the edges with a dark brown stamp pad.
  • The flowers were also inked; I used the same stamp pad that was used for the tag edges.  Several of the flowers are pop-dotted for dimension.
  • "He is Risen" was handwritten using a black Zig Writer.
  • The fibers tied to the top are some that I have had for at least 10 years (or longer) and are by EK Success.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you'll take a moment and head on over to MyPaperCrafting.com and see what the other Designers created for our button challenge. And make sure you check back in at MPC tomorrow for Digi Desserts Fridaze!

Easter Treat!

The theme for our Crafts With Cutters challenge at MyPaperCrafting.com this week is "Easter."  So, I've got a quick, super cute and very easy project for you today!   An Easter treat bag for your favorite little bunny's treats:

I found this sweet little bunny and treat bag on the Cricut Baby Steps cartridge, of all places! And the sentiment on the back is from Cricut's Easter 2010 cartridge.

Here's the recipe:

  • Treat bag cut at 11 1/2" wide and 7 3/4" tall (unassembled).  The card stock is from DCWV's Cherry Limeade Stack.
  • Bunny cut at 3" tall.  All card stocks used are from my scrap stash.  A little rhinestone bling for her bow; I used a white Gelly Roll pen, hot pink Gelly Roll pen and black marker for the face and doodling.  The hot pink and white polka dot paper is also from the Cherry Limeade Stack.
  • The "Happy Easter" sentiment was cut at 3" wide and again was done using scraps.
Now all it needs is some Easter grass and yummy Easter treats!

I hope you will  hop on over to MyPaperCrafting.com and check out what the other Design Team members created.  Remember, you can play along too!  You have two weeks to link up your Easter-themed project for a chance at a gift certificate and becoming one of our "Top Crafty Cutters."

Thanks for stopping by and have a happy Easter!

Cards for Claire & Digi Desserts Fridaze

TGIF!  And if it is Friday that means it's digi-time at MyPaperCrafting.com!  My daughter's Brownie Troop made cards for Claire, this month's recipient at "I Feel the Love" Project.  The Brownies are all 7, 8 and 9 years old and they LOVED Melin's digi stamps from Paper CraftingWorld.com.  As a matter of fact, I was severely chastised for not bringing them more than one card a piece to color!  They were so thrilled to make something to brighten Claire's day!  Here is what the girls created:

Crafts With Cutters Challenge #125: Card Outreach

Good morning and happy Wednesday!  This week at MyPaperCrafting.com for our weekly "Crafts With Cutters" challenge the Design Team is creating cards for 4 year old Claire.  Claire was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma (bone cancer) in January of this year and she is this month's recipient at the "I Feel the Love" Project (IFTL).  To learn more about Claire and IFTL, please visit my teammate, Madison's blog.

Here is the card I created for Miss Claire:

The inside of my card says: "I'm cheering for you, Claire!"

And here's the recipe:

  • The card base is a purple cheetah print card stock by Recollections.  The mat is an embossed pastel purple from my scrap stash.
  • The card base and mat were cut using the Cricut "Just Because" Cards cartridge.  The card measures 5 1/2" wide by 8 1/2" high and then was folded in half.  The mat measures 4 3/4" wide by 4 1/4" high.
  • I used the Cricut Hello Kitty Greetings cartridge for my little cheerleader.  She is cut at 4" tall.  I used all scraps from my stash; including the holographic paper for her pom-poms.
  • Some self-adhesive gems complete this cute little card.
Thanks so much for stopping by!  Now head on over to MyPaperCrafting.com and see what the rest of the Design Team created for Claire!

24 Carrot EGG-stravaganza Blog Hop!

Welcome to MyPaperCrafting.com's 24 Carrot EGG-Stravaganza!  If you've come from visiting my wonderful friend Charlotte at A Little Bit of Detail then you're in the right spot.  If you've joined us in mid-hop, then head on over to MyPaperCrafting.com and start at the beginning, because I'm the caboose on this party train!

Easter is just around the corner and I know that the kiddos in my life are gearing up for chocolate bunnies and egg hunts.  I made these cute little candy baskets for my youngest nieces and nephews.  You will notice that they are "no-frills" -- just the basics for the 5 and under crowd -- I didn't want any trim, eyelets, brads or bling for little hands to pull off and eat!  I have used bunches of Melin's wonderful digis from PaperCraftingWorld.com -- they are just too cute and perfect for this project!

This little box is super easy to make (here's the tutorial).  I just added some ribbon for a handle, a die cut circle and a cute little digi for decoration.  The candies are adorned with die-cuts and digis, too.

The die-cut circles were all cut using the Cricut George & Basic Shapes cartridge.  The "scalloped" edge circle used on the boy's boxes is from the Cricut Easter 2010 cartridge and is cut at 1 3/4".  The "scalloped" edge circle used on the girl's boxes is from Cricut's Cake Basics cartridge and is also cut at 1 3/4".

Each basket holds three pieces of chocolate candy (I used Dove Promises).  Here's the list of digis I used, with links to the files on PaperCraftingWorld.com:
It just wouldn't be a blog hop without some "candy!"  I have two give-aways today . . . to be eligible to win you must be a follower of my blog and leave a comment on this post.  One lucky winner will receive this adorable cutting file from PaperCraftingWorld.com:

And the other winner will receive this new (in the package) 7" Cuttlebug Embossing Border set.  There are five borders and the set is called "Measure by Measure."

Thanks so much for hopping with us today!  And remember, if you missed the first part of the line-up head on over to MyPaperCrafting.com and start at the beginning -- you don't want to miss a single project!

Crafts With Cutters Challenge #124

Happy Wednesday!  Our CWC Challenge this week at MyPaperCrafting.com was to create anything Irish or St. Patrick's Day related.  St. Patty's Day isn't a big holiday for my family -- to the best of my knowledge there isn't a trace of Irish blood in my family tree.  Having said that, it is fun to celebrate the day -- wear green, talk with a fake Irish accent and pull Leprechaun tricks on my 8 yr. old!

Here is what I created for today's challenge . . .

After I made this card I realized that it reminds me of Skittles candies!  LOL!  Here's the recipe:

  • The patterned paper is by Colorbok and is from and 8 1/2" x 11" paper pack called "Sunny Day."  (I purchased it at Wal-Mart.)  I cut the strips 3/4" wide and 3" and 3 3/4" long.
  • The shamrock paper is from a Recollections paper pack called "Feathered Greens."
  • I used the Cuttlebug Musical Flourish folder to emboss the shamrock; it was cut at 2 1/2" tall using Cricut's Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge.
  • The white scalloped border was cut at 5 1/2" wide using the Cricut Sophisticated cartridge.
  • The grosgrain ribbon 5/8" wide and was adhered with Recollections red line tape.
  • The sentiment was computer generated.
  • I used some clear Stickes to give my shamrock a little bling.
I hope you'll head on over to MyPaperCrafting.com and see what the other Design Team members created!  Don't forget to join us tomorrow for our Tags 'n ATC Thursdaze and Friday for our Digi Dessert Fridaze.  We also have our "24 Carrot Egg-Stravaganza" Blog Hop this Saturday, March 9th -- there will be some freebies and giveaways  involved . . . you won't want to miss out!
