Girl Scout Recruitment Display

It is that time of year when everyone goes back to school and back to Scouts!  I created this recruitment board for my Girl Scout Service Unit to use at school open houses and other events.

It is a tri-fold board (think science fair display) and I used the Cricut Paper Doll Dress Up and Everyday Paper Doll cartridges for my little Girl Scouts; Cricut Cake Basics for the "I Can't Wait to . . . be a Girl Scout!" saying; and my computer and printer for all of the other components.

Here are some close-ups of the girls.  I drew their faces by hand and their insignia and badges were all printed out on sticker paper and then meticulously cut by hand. (A true labor of love or just pure craziness, I can't decide . . .)

I am selling kits for this project.  It includes the un-assembled and un-decorated paper dolls, "I Can't Wait" lettering, titles, and banners.  Board, adhesive, photos, markers and other embellishments are not included.  Interested?  Drop me an email at:  gator 4 life jen at gmail dot com (no spaces and use the appropriate symbols).

A Sweet Girl & her Bunny

I am pleased to be the feature designer over at the PaperCraftingWorld.com blog today!  It has been awhile since I've done any scrapbooking, so I decided to create a springtime/Easter layout using one of Paper Crafting World's adorable bunny files.

My daughter loves bunnies and one of her favorite shows when she was little was "Max and Ruby."  When she was about 15 months old we made the bunny in the photo below at our local Build-A-Bear and dubbed her "Ruby."  Ruby was her constant companion and bedtime buddy for many years.  Now that she is almost 10, Ruby has a place of honor among her stuffed animals.

I used the Spring Brown Bunnies cutting file from PCW along with an egg and font from the SCAL (Sure Cuts A Lot) library.  The completed bunny measures 5 3/4" tall and is made of scraps from my stash.  I cut two of the grass sections and three eggs in various sizes.  The font is Brush Script.  The background paper and paper I used for the eggs has a shimmer to it -- it is from Designs by Reminisce.

The journaling block reads . . . A girl and her bunny . . . Ruby has been your constant companion since you were about 15 months old.  Shortly before Easter we took you to have your 3 year old portraits made and you insisted on dressing Ruby up and including her in your photos.  Your statement to me was "Momma, Ruby needs her pictures taken, too.  We can leave a copy of it for her daddy, the Easter Bunny!"

Here is a closer look at that cute little bunny.

A "Fairy" Happy Birthday Card

I am pleased to be the featured Designer at the Paper Crafting World blog today -- and do I have some CUTENESS to share with you!  My youngest niece, Lexie, will turn five this month.  And Miss Lexie loves fairies!  When I spotted this adorable cutting file at PCW, I immediately new that the Butterfly Fairy cutting file set would be make an appearance on her birthday card.

Isn't she adorable!!  Here's my "recipe":

  • The completed card measures 8 1/2" x 5 1/2".
  • My pieced fairy measures approximately 6" tall.
  • All of the card stock is from a Recollections pack called "Soda Pop" except for the hair which is from my scrap stash.
  • The wings are cut from a holographic paper I purchased at Michael's.
  • Self-adhesive rhinestones, also from Michael's, adorn her headband and collar.  A snowflake rhinestone adds some sparkle to the end of my fairy's magic wand.
  • The patterned heart paper is also from my scrap stash and is VERY old!
  • Chalk and pen detailing complete this cutie pie.

I still find it a bit difficult to accept that the sweet-pea on the left is this beautiful big girl on the right (who, I might add, will be starting kindergarten this Fall).  Whaaaa!  I'm getting old!!  Happy birthday, sweet girl -- your Aunt Jen loves you to the moon and back!

Thanks so much for stopping by and spending some of your crafty time with me today!

Spring Time "Re-Run"

Happy Wednesday!  I'm the featured Design Team member today at the PaperCraftingWorld.com blog.  Today is a bit of a re-run of sorts -- we've been battling the yuck, an overly full schedule and the arrival of Girl Scout cookies.  My 9 year old has sold 400 boxes thus far -- now we just have to get them sorted and delivered prior to our March 1st cookie booth kick-off!

I shared four different projects that I created back in 2012 with Melin's beautiful cutting files . . .

The little purse treat bag is cut using the Cricut Tags, Bags, Boxes & More cartridge.   It is decorated with the Curly Hearts 'n Swirls set and the Lacey Heart, Love, Border set.   Here's the link to my original blog post with details.

I used the Cricut Cake Basics cartridge and the PCW Celebrate Sophisticate cutting file for this beautiful card.  Here's the link to the original blog post.

This card is one of my favorites and it features the PaperCraftingWorld.com cutting file entitled Birdcage Swirls and Flowers.  I also used the Cricut Cindy Loo ("Peace") and Cake Basics cartridges (leaves).  Here's the link to the original blog post.

And finally, this sweet little card I made for my Mom.  I used the Hibiscus Flower and Butterfly 811 cutting files from  PaperCraftingWorld.com.  I also used elements from Cricut's Cake Basics and Just Because Cards cartridges.  Here's the link for my original blog post.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hope you have a wonderful week.

Watch out for the "Love Bandit" . . .

. . . he'll steal your heart!

Happy Wednesday!  I am the featured designer today at PaperCraftingWorld.com and I'm sharing this super cute "Love Bandit" card I created using two adorable PCW cutting files.

My card measures 8 1/2" tall by 5 1/2" wide and is a hot pink card stock by Recollections. The mat is a piece of patterned paper I've had for years -- I believe it is a Karen Foster Designs paper.  The quote block is another oldie-but-goodie pulled out of my stash.  It is "Passion" quotes by Around the Block Designs.

Here is my recipe:

  • My raccoon measures 4 1/2" tall and is from PCW's My Lil' Love Bandit Set.  I added detailing with rubber stamp inks, chalk and pens.
  • The white mat is from the Sure Cuts A Lot banner and tags library and is cut at 4 1/2" wide.
  • The sweet heart banner at the top is from the PCW Key 2 My Heart Layout Set.  I welded two pieces of banner together to span my 5" mat paper.  A little inking and some ribbon completed it.
Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my Valentine's Day card!  Make sure you check back later in the week to see who my Blog Hop winner is!

"Lots of Love" Blog Hop

Welcome to the "Lots of Love" blog hop.   I am so glad you have joined us today! This will be a quick and inspiring hop for your Valentine's Day crafting as there are only 8 stops along the way.

If you came from visiting Melin at My Paper Crafting then you are in the right place. If you just happened by, our hop starts at Melin's blog so be sure to head over there and start at the beginning.

I created two Valentine's Day cards for today's hop for two of the little people in my life.   The first card features the PaperCraftingWorld.com "Bee Mine" cutting file.   This cute little bee was a breeze to cut and put together and it is oh so cute!  (There is also a companion digi stamp available.)

I pop-dotted the die cut and added some tiny pom-pom on the bee's antennae.  The wings were embossed using the Cuttlebug swiss dot folder.  Some chalk and pen detailing finish off this cutie.  My finished card measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".

The second card is a little squirrel-y!  LOL!  This PCW cutting file also has a companion digi stamp.  This adorable little guy is called "Nuts About U Squirrel".

The heart and hands are pop-dotted for dimension.  I inked the edges of the ivory paper with a light brown ink pad.  Chalk and pen detailing finish it off.

To sweeten up the hop, we are giving away a $20 gift certificate to PCW as well as picking one person from each blog that leaves a comment for a free single svg or digi of their choice from PCW (sets no greater than $2.00).

The gift certificate will be drawn from one person who leaves a comment on any one of the eight blogs participating via random selection.

The individual winners will be selected via random selection by the comments left on each particular blog.  Don't forget to leave a comment on each blog so you can increase your chances of winning!

Now on to the next stop in our hop . . . Larelyn at Handmade From My Heart.
